The power of online sex

Last week my blog stats went crazy. Two different days they trippled. Strange, but found out the second day was when this blog was listed under the “Advertising’s young minds” top blog list - this made natural traffic, but the other crazy day was two days before and I could figure it out??? I was curious and puzzled…

But then I read my post of that day and noticed that I tagged it SEX because of the Freud theme in the posted SIM education ad. And then I looked at my stats again and saw that it was the sex tag drove the stats up.

Isn’t it just amazing. There so much porn online and still I get 148 views just for tagging a post with a funny ad with sex… It’s kind of fun. Sex really drives traffic - have to remember that till my next meeting with a client and our search friends from iProspect.

Goodbye to summer

After spending 2 months waiting for my indian summer I must now realise that summer is over. This is an ode to my roof before it shuts down for the winter to come..  Bonus info : In Denmark the sun sets at 7.05 pm. We already lost 5 hours and 22 minuts.

Time for a winter depression or a lot of time to read, blog, work…

Top 27 under 27:advertising young minds: blogroll

I just made the list of top 27 blogs of people under 27! Proud to be number 26 on this list, although I actually am 27, but will enjoy it till they find out. :)

Here’s how it’s calculated and the official listing.

Another great ad

I am a bit biased in this matter, after spending 4 years working with HP, but I must say that their ads are so great and the follow up on it on their website. I like the idea about showing what the products do for you (and the variety of endorsers in the ads). And it made grounds for lots of great spoofs

This ad is so funny

Waiting to get some green

While waiting for John Grants new book “The green marketing manifesto” which seems to be a bible for the connection between marketers and the green movement, I just wanted to share these reviews and once again tell people to go buy it, read it and act upon it! Please! And as John says; It’s not that you have to sell your 4*4 - just use it 70% less. That will be a huge start. Or take your CO2 emission test on 1tonmindre.dk which is the danish site called “one ton less”

And here is the reviews on John’s book:If green is to become truly mainstream, we’ll need companies of all sizes and sectors to find their way through the subtleties and complexities of the green marketplace, and John Grant’s Green Marketing Manifesto provides an excellent roadmap. It makes a clear and compelling case that green marketing isn’t an end unto itself, but rather a potent engine for creating business value through innovation, while fomenting genuine societal change.- Joel Makower, Founder and Executive Editor, GreenBiz.com, and author of “Two Steps Forward” blog”This book is essential reading for the growing numbers who are realising that good business can be good business (and that it comes from being good, not looking good).”- Jamie Mitchell, managing director, innocent smoothiesJohn Grant has been a great help over the years in thinking about how to position and market the Ecologist magazine. He’s one of the few people I have met who understands both green issues and marketing and is able to fuse the two creatively and effectively.- Zac Goldsmith, director of The Ecologist, co-chairman of The Quality of Life Group

How a blog post keeps living

It is sometimes funny to observe how a blog post kinda has its own life. Months ago I posted about Tales of the past 3 and ever since it keeps attracting visitors. But is is highly unstable - some days are good and somedays it seems as the gamers out there are all gone. Its just fun to see how this blogosphere actually works… Or to be curious be cause I can’t really figure out how it works after all…

The tickets are sold out, and that’s even before the program is finally out. It is impressing how New Media Days has managed to position itself as THE event in the media industry in Denmark. If so I’ll be sending notes from the most interesting speakers.
