Intro to New Media Days 07

The intro was perfectly made by Martin Krasnik from Danish Newspaper Weekendavisen and formerly host of Deadline on DR2. He made a very funny opening of the conference, followed by a definitely not funny Minister for Culture Brian Mikkelsen. He talked a lot about the challenges of the digitalization of the TV-signal in 2009 and the broadening of DAB. But it fell through in this forum and a few wrongly pronounced words showed that the person writing his speach knew a lot more about media than the minister. (the launch og Hallo 3 (No brian it is Halo 3) and virel marketing - please go to wikipedia and look these words up before opening a conference on new media - oh no you don’t trust Wikis (aka the people) that’s not really good being in a democracy) A bit sad being in a pretty important position for the challenges to come in the media industry, and as the media landscape seems to merge even more with possibilities for marketers, the danish emerging economy is challenged by these changes. (sorry by the lack of links so far - these will be added soon, but accessing my blog from safari it isn’t possible. As soon as I get my own lap top with Fire Fox installed I’ll apply links and pictures..)

New Media Days 07

Though the ice cold air in room 3 got me laying down for the weekend, it is the only bad thing I have to say about NMD07. The program was packed with interesting speakers, the setting was spacious and cool, the food was ok and everything seemed to work by the book. Even the wireless internet worked this year.

Last year I had a lt of time to blog from the event, but this year I went with so many co-workers, clients, media-people and friends, that I choose not to spend time with my lap top but ty to catch as much as possible of all the interesting stuff.

As allways some of the speakers were great, some were good and just a few really sucked :) But the program was varied and satisfied a wide selection of interests. I was very extited about day 2, others would have prefered day one.

I’ll write a post with notes on the thing I heard. I will not repeat all and will give my personal POV, but hope it’ll make people go to the newmediadays webpage and see the webcast for more info.

So once again: thanks to the wonderful people behind the conference for two interesting days.

The perfect experience: nature meets technology

Last wednesday I had a wonderful evening going to the Mariko Mori exhibition Oneness at Aros Museum in Aarhus.

After my last visit with the Paul McCarthy exhibition which really wasn’t my cup of tea, I was thrilled about this. Three things that all exites me was key to the work. Nature in great photos, learnings from old eastern religion and culture combined with a fascination of technology. And all situated in a simple, aesthetic pleasing and calm atmosphere.

This was really something. A hugepart of the exhibition was equipped with 2-3 circles in front of the pictures with directional sound so you could hear the voice of Mariko telling the meaning with the picture or how she made it. It was interesting and seemed kind of intimate.

There was 3D movies, electronic art showing the effect of the moon on to the earth, old inscriptions telling the meaning of life and death, a giant plastic installation showing waves from the space and eluminating everytime a star dies. And the masterpiece of them all; the wave Ufo letting 3 persons enter a closed space with their brain activity projected on to the inside of the UFO.

We were so lucky to experience it since it was evening and the museum was half empty (didn’t mean any people, but we stood in line for 20 minutes and then got our admission into the UFO). But it was really worth the time. Here are some lovely pictures from Oneness around the world since we of cause weren’t allowed to take pictures inside

Here pictures from Groninger Museum. Where you can also find a press release on Moris art

And I also saw that Aros bought the most fascinating piece; the Tom Na H-iu. Read more here:

And I just once again must say how much I adore Aros for being able to be a world class museum in a little village as ours :)

Blog Action Day

Blog Action Day: I just think this is such an interesting idea that I had to participate.

Even though my head is a bit tired. Left home at 5 am to go and join a Nordic meeting where all the heads of Comms planning in the region was having a talk about different strategic approaches. Interesting how countries so close can solve a task so differently. But it was a good day and we exchanged experiences. I spend a lot of time yesterday finishing my presentation on status in DK, so I already feel I’m in the middle of a week, even though it’s only 20 pm on a monday.

But Blog Action Day it is and the environment is the issue. In this relation I just want to state my thrill on Al Gore receiving the Nobel peace prize. Interesting.

My contribute to this day will be a link to a danish climate site where you can calculate your own emission. One ton less it is called. I mentioned it before, but will repeat it because I think this is a perfect way to put focus on the personal emission.

Here we go: The link to http://www.1tonmindre.dk/ - and a screendump to :)

Review of my new ipod touch

Just received my ipod touch and I’ve been in heaven ever since.I’ll write a full review in a couple of days when I have a more qualified view on it, because right now I’m just stunned and thrilled… I is so beautiful. Everything just works. It’s intuitive and has this amazing feel I can’t even explain. I feels like my finger just got extended all the way into the internet and into my itunes library. And everything works so well. My photos, music and even my bookmarks from safari just slipped over onto this new device from which I will never again be separated. It’s all love….

Here I’m browsing Faris’ Blog - and if I tap the text in the blog it automatically fits to the screen so it’s perfectly readable.

I my boyfriend just told me that he heard that McDonalds launched free wifi in Denmark so everything is just perfect. Spending sometime at Copenhagen central station I’ll never again be waiting in the dark.. (but drinking cofee at McD and reading blogs)

But haven’t yet figured out why they didn’t make it connect to my airport express so I can stream my music to my hifi though…. and why google maps aren’t integrated? Heard that it will be open for third party software development, so the future seems bright. But I’ll be back with a full review later…

An ode to Dove Onslaught

After two crazy weeks of 24-7 work I’m sitting in the train on my way home from Copenhagen, where I’ve spend most of my week - and last week by the way. But it has been fun and meaningful and then you can manage even the hardest challenges.

And when the work feels good and you feel you are actually able to make a difference and have a meaningful relation with the clients.

And yesterday I saw the new Dove film for the first time and I got goosebumps all over. It’s wonderful and I love every second of it. The brand keeps making their real beauty-theme bloom once again.
